Overview

The Matheniko and Bokora Wildlife Reserves protect semi-arid savanna, rocky hills and seasonal rivers in the Karamoja region of northeastern Uganda, around the towns of Moroto and Napak.

Wildlife numbers are lower than in the national parks, but the landscapes are dramatic and wild, and the area is best experienced together with the culture of the Karamojong people and hikes in the surrounding mountains.
