Overview
The Uganda Wildlife Conservation Education Centre (UWEC) in Entebbe began as a zoo in the 1950s and is now a rescue, rehabilitation and education centre for Ugandan wildlife, spread along the shore of Lake Victoria.
It's a good introduction to Uganda's animals and conservation, especially for families, and many of the animals are rescued from injury, the pet trade or conflict with people.
