Overview
The Uganda National Mosque, often called the Gaddafi Mosque after the Libyan leader who funded its completion, stands on Old Kampala Hill. It was completed in the mid-2000s and is the headquarters of the Uganda Muslim Supreme Council.
Guided tours explain its architecture, which draws on many Islamic traditions. The highlight is climbing the minaret for a 360° view over Kampala's hills.
