Overview
Lake Mutanda lies just north of Kisoro, with the Virunga volcanoes (Muhavura, Mgahinga and Sabinyo) rising behind it. On a clear morning, it's one of the most beautiful views in East Africa.
It's quieter than Bunyonyi, and a perfect base for gorilla trekking in Bwindi's Rushaga and Nkuringo sectors, and for golden monkeys and volcano hikes in Mgahinga.
