Kigezi Wildlife Reserve
A lesser-visited link in the corridor between Queen Elizabeth National Park and Bwindi.
How to get there
By road between Ishaka and Kihihi, on the route many travelers already take between QENP and Bwindi.
What to find
Savanna and forest-edge habitat, seen more often from the road than visited as a standalone stop.
Overview
Kigezi Wildlife Reserve is a buffer zone on the southern edge of Queen Elizabeth National Park, next to the Ishasha sector. It protects part of the wildlife corridor between Queen Elizabeth, the Congo border and the highlands towards Bwindi.
Most travellers see it from the road between Ishasha and Bwindi's Buhoma sector. It shares much of Ishasha's savanna wildlife, including buffalo, Uganda kob, topi and elephants moving through the area.
Highlights
