Overview
Echuya Forest Reserve protects a high-altitude forest of bamboo and montane trees between Kabale and Kisoro. At its heart is the Muchuya Swamp.
It's one of Uganda's top birding sites, home to several Albertine Rift endemics, including the rare Grauer's swamp warbler. The forest is also closely connected with the Batwa people, who once lived in it.
